I am proud to announce Xeria Gaming (www.xeriagaming.com), a new Professional Esports team in the Australia and New Zealand region. The team is sponsored by Kingston Technology and City Hunter Cyber Cafe. More information on the sponsors below.
Xeria currently has 5 player slots for Starcraft 2 and 1 Manager position. They are:
Manager: Benji
One of the leading Commentators in the SEA region. Benji has a passion for growing the Starcraft 2 scene and esports in general in Australia and New Zealand and will Manage Xeria Gaming.
Players: Mafia - Zerg
Recent winner of City Hunter's Starcraft 2 Anniversary tournament as well as finishing third in the Sydney WCG qualifier, securing his spot in the finals. Mafia is a very heavy macro zerg player that has honed his skills by playing a significant amount of games and is known as a mass gamer. Mafia has always been a very good and active Zerg player, and we are proud to have him on the team.
Jazbas - Zerg
Jazbas is a very strong New Zealand based Zerg, placing highly in various local LAN events as well as maintaining very high ladder records finishing in the top 10 on SEA and top 35 on the NA ladder for season 2. Jazbas hopes to continue his success in the future on NA as well as the SEA server. We are proud to have him represent Xeria.
Iaguz - Terran
One of the most consistent SEA Terran players, Finishing Second in the Sydney WCG Qualifier securing a spot for the WCG Australia Finals as well as Third at NRG earlier in the year. Iaguz also finished very strongly in various other LAN and Online tournaments. Iaguz is one of the more colourful players in SEA, known as the 'Gimli Terran' for his resemblance to the Dwarf and is a fan favourite of local players.
Light - Protoss
Light is arguably the best Protoss in the SEA region at the moment, with a Second place at NRG earlier in the year behind ST_ACE, as well as Second in City Hunter's Anniversary Tournament behind teammate Mafia. Light started as a very allin player but eventually developed into a macro gamer, giving him an all round toolset which makes him a very unpredictable player. We look forward to seeing Light continue to perform well in Online and Offline events.
Our 5th slot is currently open, we will announce this player at a later date.
Thanks to our sponsors, we will be sending these players to events all over Australia and New Zealand!
Kingston Technology Company, Inc. is the world’s independent memory leader.

City Hunter are one of the largest Internet Cafe Chains in Australia, with 4 stores across Sydney (Chinatown, Haymarket, Burwood and Chatswood) and have been supporting Esports and Starcraft 2 by hosting several events for the community since the game has launched.
We are very proud to be representing both companies and thank them for supporting our team, as well as esports in the region in general.
"I am very excited for this team, I love esports with a passion and would give anything to see it grow in this region to what we are seeing elsewhere. This is a giant step in the right direction, and I am so thankful to Kingston and City Hunter for sharing my passion in supporting us."
Ben "Benji" de Ridder
Manager and Founder of Xeria Gaming
“We’re Happy to be working with Team Xeria to help develop the Starcraft II scene in Australia and New Zealand, We have big things planned and are extremely excited for the future ahead"
Chris "Arnor" Grima
Marketing Coordinator
City Hunter
With the launch of the team, we also want to contribute to the community to help it grow as well as our team.
Something I found when I started casting and playing is that it can be difficult to find replays to cast or analyse, so to help out new players every 2 weeks our players will play in a mini tournament, of which the replays will be released on our website (www.xeriagaming.com) for download, so you can study your favourite player and copy some of their builds, or use a few replays to practice your casting, or even just to enjoy some very good players playing each other.
LiveStreams
A few of our players have and will continue to Live Stream their ladder games, and as always Benji will continue his SEA tournament coverage. Links for the streams are as follows:
We also wish to release other content, from event write-ups, Interviews and anything else you guys are interested in. Content will be posted at www.xeriagaming.com and will also be posted on various websites such as Teamliquid.net and sc2sea.com.
We look forward to representing our sponsors at online and offline events, as well as build the scene here in Australia and New Zealand.
If you have any questions, please post them below and we will do our best to answer them.
Awesome! Looking forward to seeing these guys smash it up! Definitely some of my favourite players - very glad to see them getting the recognition and support they deserve.
Since you mentioned about building up the scene in the ANZ region, what about the other parts of the SEA region and how will you guys go about building up the scene? Also will the team focus more on SEA or NA ladder?

I've known about this for awhile now and have to say its fantastic news for eSports in SEA. Certainly a very stacked lineup and I'm excited to see how these players will develop with the right support! I know iaguz is taking some time off to devote himself to some hardcore practise over the next months. Who knows, we might be seeing more SEA players in the world map very soon !! All the best to Xeria Gaming!
Q1: Any plans for a "pro-gaming" house? I know with the exception of Jazbas all of you are from Sydney!
Q2: Will you be considering GSL COde A or flying to SEA events outside of Australia in the near future? Thailand for e.g has big lan tournies every year.

Q3: Benji explain the team name! lol!
1. No plans for a pro-gaming house, but we might have days at City Hunter and train there etc ^_^
2. Costs too much to do that, a flight to Thailand is like 5 flights to Melb or Bris, and there are plenty of events

Missed this question, I am sorry ^_^
Players will ladder on what server they want, but all the players have been active on SEA in the past and I can't see that not continuing
As for other parts of SEA, as our team grows, we will be able to expand SEAwide and be able to send players to these events, or even pick up a player from one of the Asian countries. For now, it is simply easier to have all the players around the same area.
Lol GSL Code A Qualifiers... Not even a lot of the FXO players can make it in..
Speaking of which, what about FXO's upcoming event in Malaysia? Flights to MY aren't that bad from AU.
@nGenLight: How was what I said anything other than a realistic outlook?
How many non Korean players of the highest US/EU level have managed to qualify for Code A without being automatically seeded in? Yeah I'd like to see some Aussies there, I was just being realistic...
