After months of dual playing, I have chosen to stick withTerran as my preferred race (instead of Protoss), to increase my rankings onceagain.
Nukes, I have not seen many strategies (even in pro comps)where they are used, is their a specific reason for this?, does anyone haveadvice that Nukes should be an included strategy?
if you die to Nukes, you're a silly buns.
most people use nukes to zone or deny mining, rather than actually expecting they will win the game with one magic nuke (tho it does happen).
Base your play around other things and use nukes as a tool in the late game (rather than playing out a 'nuke' strat). imo
I'm not very good, only made it to top platinum but I watch a lot of Terran games, mainly mech players like Mario, Lynna and Avilo.
Chadman nailed it, probably not best to use nukes as the backbone to your strategy but i think they have a place in the late game as a mech player. The best way to use nukes imo is for taxing their multi-tasking (Late game). Fill a medivac with or send out 3 ghosts, have 3 nukes ready to go and drop them in different spots while immediately casting nukes. Great for breaking siege lines also. Great for taking out workers @ expansions and diminishing larva stores on macro hatches. Also 1/2 Nukes can do great damage to an opponents Pylons/Supply/Depots/O'lords. While the nukes are dropping, attack another expansion, attack his army, do some drop harass. Do something. Never just be "Dropping sweet nukes bro". :P
IMO, nukes are good in the late game if you are on the aggressive side (which is always the case if you play terran).
For example, if you can drop two cloaked ghosts in the protoss main and fire two nukes AT ONCE, you can destroy 6+ gateways and a bunch of pylons in the blink of an eye. Notice the need to strike at once, otherwise the shields regenerate and the second nuke won't finish the buildings.
In addition, if you can push with your main army so your opponent is focused on the main battle while you drop the ghosts, this can give you a HUGE lead.
Ghosts in general are great against protoss balls with EMPs and sniping tier 3 zerg units like ultras or brood lords .

The reason for that has been unchanged ever since the game's release I guess, that is, no, there aren't any long term gameplan for Terran right now that utilizes nuke aggression all day long in pro matches, simply because
1, ghosts + cloak + nuke themselves cost a lot of money for harassment when a simple group of 1 medivac and 9 marines is usually enough if you just want to piss your opponent off with a drop to kill off workers.
2, A good player will usually react to a nuke accordingly. They will see the red dot, evacuate all of their units that you are trying to nuke, then suddenly all of your investment into the nuke tech are wasted.
3. Hiding a ghost from a good player is also hard lategame when detectors and scans are very common in the lategame.
Hope that helped ;b just my 2c

Earlygame ZvZ is basically a knifefight with suicide bombers.
I think thats hit the nail on the head. Ghosts are a lot more valuable for the EMP really. Landing money EMP's will win you more games than hoping for that one golden nuke.
Though it is funny as all heck when it does land .
