SC2 Beta in Mainland China is scheduled to go up on 29th March, and users will have to patch to version 1.3 before they are able to play the game. Netease (Blizzard's partner in China) has already confirmed that SC2 servers in China will go online together with patch 1.3. Grandmaster will come 2 weeks after the start of the new ladder season.
Also, ladder reset will probably not happen with the patch. Many people are saying that there would be 2-3 weeks before the ladders reset (need confirmation). All points will be reset, but MMR will most likely not be reset. I have no idea how long a season would last, so there is no answer to when leagues will be locked. IE, a new season will not start together with the patch, but will only come after.
On a side note, do you think there would be an influx of high-level non-Korean pros once the China servers go online? With a large population, will they be able to create their own SC2 pros?
Looking forward to the reset! Will definitely use it as a way to play a lot more competitively and aim for the higher leagues and spend a lot less time watching SCII for it's entertainment value.
