Perhaps the scoring system needs to be reviewed & backdated.
Things like decay rate, retrospective-scaling on event's value etc might help accuracy.
This is just a cumulative score, it's not meant to be used as any kind of ranking system. I like it in this instance as it encourages people to actively play in SEA tournaments when we use this for seeding/some invites.
I just mean that I don't think anyone is under the impression that it's trying to accurately rank players by skill in the same sense as a project like aligulac...
Understood, but if it's being used as a basis to invite people (who cares about ranks, honestly - they are never fully accurate) - shouldn't we at least look at the fact that it's inaccuracy as a loose basis for seeding/invites is considerable?
Well, it was only Eddie that organised this as a better way to seed people in master's cup as ladder rank is irrelevant/too hard to work out with everyone playing on different servers. Other people using it as any kind of system for invites/seedings is purely coincidental and entirely up to their own discretion. \
I believe some people have done it, but if your concerns bother them (and they should definitely think about it) they can choose whatever other system they want.
