Hi Everybody!,
This week's BSG will be slightly different. Instead of the usual single elimination format, we will be using the Swiss format which will allow all participants to play each round until the end of the tournament. The format will be explained on the spoiler directly below. Due to this, we will only have 32 slots open for BSG this week and only those that are sure that they will be playing in the tournament, and would not leave halfway should sign up. Late-comers and no show will be replaced with people who would like to join the tournament but had no opportunity. For those people, join the chat channel, sc2seaBSGx. Results of the tournament are to be PMed to Bakainu.974.
Swiss Tournaments
Swiss-system tournaments give equal play time to participants, pair players with others of similar skill level, and determine a winner in as few rounds as possible. They're essentially smarter, abbreviated round robins.
First Round
Top seeds are paired against bottom seeds. Random seeding will be used. For 8 players, the pairs would be 1v5, 2v6, 3v7, and 4v8.
Points
Match wins are awarded 1 point, and byes 1 point while losers receive 0 points.
Additional Rounds
After each round, players are grouped by score. The top and bottom half of each group is then paired (same method as the first round), but steps are taken to ensure there are no rematches. Players float up or down between groups if necessary. When there's an odd number of players, a bye is awarded to the lowest ranked player who has not yet received one.
The minimum number of rounds to determine a winner is equal to the binary logarithm of the number of players rounded up (3 rounds for 8 players, 4 for 16, 5 for 32, and so on), hence there are 5 rounds in BSG Open #15.
Final Results
Players are ranked by score at the conclusion of the tournament, with ties broken using the Median-Buchholz system.

The first map of each round is pre-determined and outlined in the following list. The losing player of the semi-final and final match will decide the subsequent map. The map pool is as follows:
· All results must be PMed to BakaInu.974 in-game.
· Players must be logged into SCII SEA region 15 minutes before their match-up. Players who are 15 or more minutes late will be disqualified and their opponent will be given an automatic win.
· Matches will be played as a Bo1 with the exception of the semi-finals and finals; which will be played as a Bo3.
· A replay-pack from the winner of the BSG must be sent to Zergtastic@yahoo.com.au.
· Winner of the BSG is required to send the replay pack within 5 days of winning the tournament or else his/her victory shall be deemed void.
· Spectators will be allowed, however permission must be granted by both players in the current match-up. Referees and casters will also be allowed to spectate.
· If any disconnects occur within the first two minutes of game-play, the match will be replayed. However if the disconnect occurs after two minutes of game-time, then it is up to the discretion of the referee to decide whether; A) the game is to be replayed, or B) player X/Y is to be awarded the win.
· Any disputes will be handled by the BSG admins after reviewing all associated replays.
· Any inappropriate behaviour will result in a disqualification.
· If a person is suspected to be smurfing (high level players in BSG tourneys), the associated player's replay will be judged by several high level players to determine the associated player's authenticity, if found to be guilty of such treason!, the player shall be banned from further tournaments and SC2SEA. If Baka knows where you live, say goodbye to your cat/dog as well. I, Zergtastic, shall go to prison for his actions as a mate in the conspiracy.
·A previous winner of BSG Open is not allowed to participate in any future BSG tournament.
·There is no substitution allowed in between any part of the tournament.
-A bronze player who is considered to be platinum or higher ranked player by having really high level gameplay sense(i.e. Macro), is instantly disqualified on the grounds of smurfing. The player is allowed to dispute the claims of the BSG admins by showing prove that they are not smurfing. This will clear them from further future accusation of smurfing.
