To celebrate the start of a new year and beginning of OSC season 3, we thought it would be cool to put on a Global All-Stars Tournament. This event is aimed at getting our North American and European friends more involved/aware of our region and OSC competitions. This tournament will be open to the EU, NA, SEA, and Chinese regions, and require citizenship of these nations to participate. We want to see who the 'best foreigner' is on the day! The Global All-Stars Tournament is sponsored by Eddie, PSISTORM Gaming, ADVMoto Magazine, and Saulo Silva fine photography.
In 2014 OSC partnered tournaments gave away $29691 combined prizepool, (SEA $ bounties, Terran Bonus, Invitationals, and LAN events not included in this!), ran 155 completed partnered tournaments (up from 77 last year, which equates to 100% growth), and had 358 individual players with points earned (up from 138 in 2013 = 159% growth), however we had limited involvement from our EU + NA friends, so there is still opportunities to expand even further! We want to get these pkayers more involved, so we can show off the skills of our own top players, and think this is a great way to start!
So on Sunday Jan 18 10am AEDT / Saturday Jan 17 3pm PST, we will be running this $1000 tournament ($1230 AUD), which will include 24 invites, and 2 qualifiers, each with 4 spots. These players will fight it out in a 32 Double Elimination bracket to see who is the best foreigner! This could be the first of a regular series

Map Pool:
King Sejong Station LE, Overgrowth LE, Catallena LE, Merry Go Round LE, Deadwing LE, Foxtrot Labs LE + Nimbus LE
Both players take turns to veto 2 maps from the map pool, so there is 3 left, then they each select the map they most want if they lose, and start with the remaining map. Any problems, consult with admin.
Default server is North America, however if both players agree, their series can be played on another server, but must you notify admin before + after. In the event of disagreement, Game 1 will be played on NA, and the loser can pick the server for the next map.
Players are advised to join the in game group OSC on NA server, so they can contact their opponents and admin.
Only offical tournament streams and casters are allowed to observe/stream matches. No first person streams.

Event Sponsors
Without these companies contributing to our tournament it's fair to say the prizepool would be far smaller. But it's not just about the $'s. All these companies have a long history of supporting Starcraft 2 and esports. They care about the scene and the community. So many thanks to them all! If you esports fans, players etc can send them some love and thanks for supporting SC2 + the Oseanic Championship Series it would be appreciated in return. They all are leaders in their industry, so if it comes down to a choice between brands, pick these guys who support esports!
With the catch phrase "Energizing The Game", PSISTORM GAMING, founded on the 27th of August, 2014, is a primarily Starcraft 2 organization composed of players who believe in good mannered play, enthusiastic sportsmanship, and above all, a love for the game. Originally part of KJ clan from karljay.com which has existed for over a decade from the days of BroodWar, the team has been rebranded as a new organization with sponsorship and big plans. The organization has hosted special showmatches with INcontroL, Hendralisk and EnDerr, as well casual tournaments with a significant prize pool for amateurs.
The team has grown to have 4 pro, 2 academy Grand Master players with all but 1 from the USA. The casual team consists of many players who organize tournaments, leagues and other events, being active differently with casting, writing articles, and other contributions. The also recently picked up our own local hero EnDerr! Be sure to give them a follow on twitter to stay up to date with all news and results.

Saulo loves to play and watch starcraft! He is a big supporter of the OSC Championship Series.
The Global All-Stars is a partnered tournament of the Oseanic StarCraft 2 Championship Series (OSC). The OSC is the Oceanic, South East Asian and Chinese regional championship, which follows a yearly season format, where players earn points for placing in all partnered tournaments. (Only around the top 10-25% gain points from each tournament). The top 32 players ranked via the OSC Player Leader board at the end of the season are then invited to play in the 2 day minimum $4000+ Grand Finale to determine the yearly champion!
Could have just called this the 'We don't like koreans' tournament
We love our Korean friends.
Many play in OSC partnered tournmaents such as Leifeng Cups, Seacraft, Masters Cups, so are aware of our league and region.
Furthermore, 6/8 of our yearly Grand Finals top 8 placing players were Koreans.
Our friends at basetradetv also recently ran a Hey, Look, Koreans! Tournament, we thought we'd do something different to try and balance things out and give other regions a shot.
Why not invite at least arthur and spear, I think they deserve it more then 90% of the people you already invited.
This tournament is presented as 'who is the best foreigner' on the day type thing, and it's goals are to get EU/NA players more involved and aware of our scene/tournaments. Arthur and Spear already play in 90% of tournaments, and are regulars. Missing one tournament won't hurt their chances of making yearly finals that much.
This looks pretty good.
I have a feeling that these sort of events are few and far between, meaning if "foreigners" want our money and OSC points~ they'll have to invest into a lot more than these one off things. >_<
I can definitely see that this is aimed at getting some foreign interest, good stuff Eddie~
It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.

Oh sick!!!! This should be lots of fun to watch as well! Great thinking to make one big tourney for foreigners out there right after the "Hey Look, Koreans!" by BaseTradeTV
I already liked these ADVMoto guys. When I go to Australia, hopefully they have a good partner to rent me a motorcycle for some trips.
There should be only motorcycles in the world, cars FTL!!

The ADVMoto guys have been great to work with on this. They know a bit about SC2, and the SEA scene!
I agree Saulo, bikes are awesome! I was 50/50 about getting one this year, but opted to throw my savings into a holiday instead. Maybe in a couple of years #thedream
