[General]Switching to random with little knowledge of other races
Hey guys.
I just switched to random for fun, since playing the same race over and over again in ladder gets tedious after a while. But the problem is that I have little to no knowledge over all of the non Terran matchups, as in what's the standard build opener in the matchups, what are the current meta on the matchups, etc.
So I wanted to ask the seasoned random players, when you switched over to random, how did you learn matchups that was outside of your main race? Did you just grind ladder games to get experience and have a general idea over the matchups or did you use some other unconventional method? Also, what are the current metagame of all of the matchups currently?
Thanks in advance

Earlygame ZvZ is basically a knifefight with suicide bombers.
Play 50 games as one race, then 50 games as the next race. Watch every replay and see timings you need to consider for each match up you play. Keep taking notes of timings you should consider and alter your "build order" accordingly.
hey ive been random for awhile: and well im not even that goo but i just depended on my mechanics (apm, multi tasking, building stuff) and first thing of all is to explore, use and get used to all the units then u can start looking at the unit compositions. i dont rly look at builds except for openings and just look at unit compositions in general
It should be very similar to when you learnt your first race, except:
+ You know the units and their roles
+ You know how the game works in general
+ You don't know things like hotkeys, correct compositions, and the macro technique (i.e. inject/larvae and chronoboost)
I would personally use TeamLiquid (or your preferred build acquisition method) to find a macro build that 'generally' works in all matchups from the races you're unsure of. Get fluid with executing them, then branch off into other playstyles.
