T-shirts, guest books and cheerfuls are all available at the Auckland Barcrafts
In just a few short months Byron McLean has changed the Auckland SC2 scene dramatically by hosting six successful Barcrafts, which have seen hundreds of people turn out each time. Whether it’s MLG, GSL or GSTL the Barcrafts have been packed with punters and have had excellent coverage of events, delicious Starcraft II themed drinks and appealing prizes from their sponsors.
Every Barcraft has built on the last and the last event for the GSTL Finals between Slayers and FXO was amazing in production. Everyone was impressed as how far the event has come, which featured on prime time news.
David Farrier, a New Zealand reporting legend covered the event and also plays Starcraft himself. While he admits he is not a Grandmaster level player he does enjoy watching tournaments and coming along to Barcrafts.

So far events have seen Barcraft goers purchase cheap raffle tickets which put them in the draw for Starcraft themed prizes, be it mechanical keyboards and peripherals or t-shirts and merchandise from sponsor Playtech.
With three more Barcrafts already lined up for the future, McLean is exactly what the New Zealand eSports Scene needs, with good sponsors, venues and advertising he has already brought new blood into the community which for New Zealand, is exactly what the country needs.
Likewise down in Christchurch UC Starcraft has started the Barcraft buzz in their city. Friday night’s GSL Code S Finals between LG-IM.Seed and SK.MC saw their first Barcraft ever. With a great turn out and excitement surrounding the event the future of Starcraft events in the South Island is looking good.

Team get pumped. I'm flying down tomorrow to get BarCraft cranking in Wellington. I'm fizzing to see MVP smash the poor little Life. We have some great prizes to give away from PLAYTECH, thanks guys.
The GSL kicks off at 7pm to grab your seat, some buddies, a beer, and bring your mates. Lets show Auckland that Wellington eSports scene is better, stronger, faster
