Welcome to the 15th Gold, Platinum and Diamond Weekly Open!

The event shall be a 128 player competition. It will be a single elimination style tournament.

Details

Date: Sunday, 26th of June, 2011.
Time: 4pm SGT, 6pm AEST
Location: SEA Battle.net region.
Tournament Eligibility: You must be in the Gold, Platinum or Diamond league (1v1 - SEA license). If you were previously in Masters at the conclusion of season 1, you are ineligible.

Prizes: The winner of the GPD Open will take home the $10 first prize
The top 8 players from this event shall qualify for the Masters Cup on 3/7/11 and the chance to win the min $75 1st prize, $20 2nd, and $10 3rd for that event. Wildcard qualifying spots may also be given for impressive play outside of the top 8.

Rules and Regulations

· All results must be PMed to FaDeEdOne.139 in-game.
· Players who are 15 or more minutes late will be disqualified, their opponent will be given an automatic win.
· If any disconnects occur within the first two minutes of game-play, the match will be replayed. However if the disconnect occurs after two minutes of game-time, then it is up to the discretion of the referee to decide whether; A) the game is to be replayed, or B) player X/Y is to be awarded the win.
· Any disputes will be handled by the GPD admins after reviewing all associated replays.
· Any inappropriate behaviour will result in a disqualification.
· Players must have their own Sea account, playing on a friends is not allowed
. You are allowed to switch races
. No late replacements.

The first map of each round is pre-determined and outlined in the following list. The losing player will decide the subsequent map. The map pool is as follows:

Ro64: Metalopolis (B01 no 2nd game)
Ro32: Tal'Darim Altar LE (B01 no 2nd game)
Ro16: Typhon Peaks (B01 no 2nd game)
Ro8: The Shattered Temple (B03)
Semi-Finals: Shakuras Plateau (B03)
Finals: GSTL Dual Site (B05)

Loser can pick from any the following maps:

Xel'Naga Caverns, Metalopolis, Shakuras Plateau, Typhon Peaks, The Shattered Temple, Tal'Darim Altar LE

For B03 and B05 each player can have 1 veto

Congratulations to BubblePoosh on winning the 15th GPD Weekly Open! BubblePoosh (Z) beat Redemption (P) 3-2 in the final. BubblePoosh's heavy roach and upgrades were too powerful for Redemption in the first 2 games. Redemption came back winning the next 2 with heavy voids in game 3 and a hidden 4 gate in the 4th, BubblePoosh's roach/ling won it for her in the final match. Final Brackets.

This is also the first time a Zerg has won in 9 weeks, ending the recent domination by T + P's

Apologies for not having a caster for this week. Asked a lot of people but all were busy, away, or having stream problems. SEACL Finals were on as well. However the tournament did run very quick for players.
