What the, my post appeared doubled for a moment, then deleting one deleted both. Hopefully admins can see what I posted anyway
"I feel that using maps that aren't in the standard map ladder pool isn't the greatest idea, because players usually aren't practicing on them - even if you played SCBW, most players aren't familiar with the SC2 versions. They're not used in other leagues for the most part, and I know I had to grab TLPD profiles of the BW maps to explain to some other nGen's exactly wtf we were playing on."

pRodigy did put on a great fight, and it was a very fun experience to play them. (In fact, it was a pleasure) The only reason we were dissing some members in chat (like pRoHuntress, for example), is because we're friends with him and know that it's just friendly banter. And that's pretty much all the chat was, friendly banter, but we're sorry it seemed like we were BMing anyone, because that could not be further from the truth, haha.
And as for benji apaprently insulting the other team...not really? I thought he was commentating very well, and wasn't biased at all... no, like, seriously, when did he ever insult the other team? =/
EDIT: Checking with Huntress it seems like many people thought we were BM, including some members of pRo. We really, humbly apologize for this, and I have personally apologized to huntress myself. Please know that we never had any intention of BMing and would like to sincerely apologize to those we have offended.

i wasn't there to listen to the stream but first of all mad props to torniquet for taking the time to organise this and posting the reps up so fast, it was his idea to have a COTH. And of course thanks to Soft and Timber for getting their clans involved.
i was not there so i dont know if there was bm or not but let me give my thoughts on "manner" in general.
as a caster if you wanna suceed in that field its important to respect your opponents, especially in organised events the community watches. tenz actually ran into some trouble with Blizzard during the SEA invitationals even tho his casting was totally manner as he posted some inappropriate stuff on the tl forums and Blizzard didn't want tenz to be associated with them anymore.
As mentioned above, some people were offended. this is not good because without respect for your opponents the event will not seem profesional. more importantly, it is not something potential sponsors and their products want to be associated with, and if we want esports to succeed and grow in SEA, we definetly need to have the right attitude to be taken seriously by sponsors.
anyway it seems like that wasn't the intention of nGen to be bad mannered and its great there was an apology on behalf of refallen. also just spoke to timber and hes fine with it, although he didnt listen to the stream. this is only the first week, so im sure there are stuff to learn and it will only get better and more profesional the next time round.
As one of the casters, I am sad and disappointed to know that the viewers thought we were being bm towards pRodigy. Personally, I don't think either one of us were particularly bm or biased and I think I speak for both of us when I say that it definitely was not our intention and I apologize, will take note of this and try to make sure it doesn't happen again ever.
I also have to apologize for the lag during the games as I suspect it was at least partly on my end and I should have realized it sooner as my connection was extremely moody that morning (seemed fine during the tests though ...sg internet/starhub ftl ><)
Other than that I think it was well organized, props to Torniquet. The games were great to watch and cast and I'm looking forward to the future matches =]
I hopped into the game halfway when I was at the Epic Convention, and I heard the super bashing on stream and also stream chat.
At first I thought it was just normal fun bashing but seriously, some of it was really rude especially from the nGen players. You asked for feedback so don't be negative or unreceptive to it.
When I commented on it, I got really rude replies on stream too. That's not cool at all. Even if you guys were being competitive or "defensive" about your own team, I understand loyalty. But even in likes of King of SEA matches or KOTH, there was no such blatant rudeness.
Comments like, "Omg his t is so noob, my t will own his t how can he even be allowed to play" (And this is a toned down version from me).
Other than that there was quite a lot more of rude poking.
When I commented on it, once again, I got rude replies from nGen players like "if you don't like it, don't watch".
Seriously guys? Cmon!
But anyway, the games were well played by both nGen and pRodigy. Grats to nGen for winning.
I hope that nGen can improve as a team not only skill-wise but also manner-wise!
Best of luck!
aLt fighting!! \o\

Hi , i had fun.im always up for healthy competition! But i was in the stream and i do agree some things went overboard from the Opponent clan there. lol. but i understand that things between me and ref was a joke i dont think it was that part that were considered "BM " . maybe small jokes made by ngen to ngen members . for example and it appeared to others that its really rude.
Actually we dont really mind, as we have lost this one. but we will be back ! (:
i really liked benji and dfm casting. i thought it was cool. the real problem may lie in the chatbox around ngen members but thats about it =P its okay ngen is very naughty and loud :P
Just a message to others that we are still on the competetive spirit! pRODIGY HWAITING . hehe ^^

been lurking on these forums for awhile a today will be my first post with some feedback from me
i didn't like the bias casting, and i feel sorry for pRodigy who did put on a good fight.
isnt ngen supposed to be a good mannered clan?
under their join requirements i see "good mannered at all time" as one of the requirements
but their castier is inuslting the other team, and their players are acting so bad manner in the chat.
its good for u that you won but why not win with class and and show some respect for your opponents too?
overall it was a nice clan war to watch and hope to see more in the future, but with better manners.
I was the nGen caster that you mentioned and whilst I take no responsibility in what was said in the chat as it is a public chat and I really don't have the time to read it all, I am actually quite suprised you saw my commentary as bias, as I made an effort to be as unbias as possible. If you have any examples please let me know asap.
Regardless I do have the recordings and will relisten to them, as well as upload them so people that were not at the event can determine for themselves if I was bias.
Comments like, "Omg his t is so noob, my t will own his t how can he even be allowed to play" (And this is a toned down version from me).
It wasn't an nGen member who said this. This and a good deal of the bullshit you were commenting on was said by random viewers. Most of the nGen players weren't talking in the stream chat.
The only real comments we made were teasing fathuntress or minor things - I say minor because I can't even remember them.
I personally did not see anything particularly BM.
Ill deal with the whole BM saga off the forums. If we could continue to use this thread to post feedback about the Coth would be a appreciated. Anything in regards to BM, PM me. Not going to have this thread turn into a back and forth argument.
Since clan is so huge, maybe we should do 7 Matches instead of only 4?
Also if someone wins three times in a row, they will be able to use the 'call for help' card.
for example nirvana wins three times in a row and then loses to the mighty huntress. Then nirvana proceed to use the earned card 'CALL FOR HELP' which replaces kelly as my opponent, ofcourse alt dont get a lose until kelly and nirvana loses.
or if the whole clan match was 6-0 .. and the coth is a 7 match game, the other clan is able to use the SUDDEN DEATH card, which calls for a 4on4 match! and then if the losing clan wins, they will gain 4 points . its 6-4 then the coth will be back to normal.
Players who have played in either the 1v1 or 4v4 will not be able to play again. This will clan as huge as nGen and more other members to have a chance to take part and also pushes the community to have larger clan rather than unsociable teams!
or if the match was 3-3 even, either clan has the power to call for the 'cat fight' . sending the girl member in clan to duke with another clan with girl. and if the other team doesnt have a girl its auto-loss. (similar to girls esl cup, not being sexist). its not always just the top players playing! its a god damn clan war. every one should play a part. even the supporters.
if SEA want to make it, we must be bold to have creative ideas and then to have fun. cause we lack man power. we need to unite at the same time have healthy competition.
all the more, manner game gg gl!
other card ideas:
'extend match' card. extend to 9 matches!
'revive' card
'micro wars' duke it out custom map card
'mirror match' card - forces the enemy to use the same race (regardless of whos playing)
'protoss/zerg/terran' card - forces the enemy to use a certain race
'map card' - ability to choose map (iccup/blizz)
'bind race' - forces the next opponent to be a certain race, if i want to face nirvana ill force them to bring out a protoss. (random players finally have a place dont they)
note: why am i giving ideas like that? the reason is because i felt that this is a clan war, not solely a 1v1 competition, a 1v1 competition yes, solely based on skill. but we forgot that we are here to have fun didnt we? not glade killing everyone okay? i will use the protoss card against glade =p
SENTRY IMBA OKAY

hahahaha that was an epic post, i have never seen so many different ideas like that in a single post in a long time gogo more discussion!
well i really enjoyed the whole COTH. its a great way to get behind your clan and really enjoy winning with out the weight of having to do it all by your self (like in solo tourny).
i really hope you guys continue with this for many years! and for the first time it was run i think torn and the other guys did a really really good job.
Thank you for putting all that effort into your post and COTH. Ive received a fair bit of "Can we do this more often?" and "Can we play more games?" so i would like to explore our avenues for implementing these. Any idea in that regard?
I like the thinking outside of the box as well. I really like the idea of trying to make this unique. I think we have a lot of options to explore but will take a fair bit of refinement and discussion so yeah please do continue. See if we can expand on this idea, refine it, implement it and make this COth somethign unique and enjoyable for all.
Maps has also been a talking point. Standard vs Iccup maps. So yeah if we can give feedback about that as well.
This isnt the limitations of the discussion just some of the main points, please feel free to discuss anything and everything.
I do like the idea of more 'randomization' in the format, and more stuff to make the series more than a pure set of 1v1s, but at the same time, there should be a league in the SPL/WL format of team play that emphasizes pure team strength and player skill in the way the professional leagues do. I wouldn't mind seeing grudgematches or an alternative league system with a little more out-of-game formatting, though.
Something like we get all the clans signed up and a list of all the members. Then during the week players involved in COTH can play each other for points? The points earned goes towards their team? Make the war on teh weekend have a heavy point rating compared to the weekday 1v1 matches.
Few problems though. Would be really annoying to organise and keep track of, could be done though.
Fixing matches? I dont know why you would and probably wouldnt even happen i suppose could be combated by limit ammount of times you can play someone in a week.
And yeah heh really annoying ot organise and keep track of. BUt combining WL and 1v1 stuff like this sounds great but theres a lot to work out. Like teams with fewer players being at a disadvantage. Suppose you could nominate like a 5 player team for each clan and only game they play go towards the clans total.
I dont know heh would require a big sit down and brain storm to work it all out. But yeah loving the ideas so keep it coming.
Also in regards to the whole card idea. Maybe something to prevent an all kill. Like FoodDealer could of been able to sit Soft and nGen would have to pick someone other than Soft to play that game. nGens member gets knocked out and they can put Soft back up again. Something like that.
