Really keen to go to this, but I need a lift ~_~ if anyone would be willing to pick me up on the way, or would pick me up I'd be quite happy to pay for petrol.
Is there a schedule? I -might- go to play sc2 as it's just down the road. Not even considering staying the entire time though. I'm not really interested in anything other than the sc2 bit...
Also, echoes you have a good shot of taking down a P/D bracket anyway. If I come, it's me vs. you in the finals, deal?
Yeah would be great to get definitive confirmation on whether "Masters" to "Intermediate" will separate GM from standard Masters.
Will look out for it ^^

enough about the schedule. since you kids haven't been to SGL before, here's how it works.
the idea behind the event is that everyone can play in AS MANY COMPETITIONS AS THEY LIKE.
i'm not shitting you here. last time i entered the sc2, cs: source, call of duty 4, table tennis, and heroes of newerth competitions. this was all on the saturday, and i left around 11.30/midnight on the first day.
the idea is that games will have a start time, but when they are played out is flexible depending on the schedules of the individual players. gotta wait for someone? that's cool - play another comp in the meantime and have fun.
SGL does NOT revolve around starcraft 2. get that into your heads now. there are some awesome prizes, but the idea is for people to participate in as many things as possible, and that's how the admins run things. obviously people can't delay games forever - but you're not going to get a nailed on schedule to the hour. the event just doesn't work that way, in practice or on paper.

As Dippa said, we are about having fun, and for a lot of people, that means playing different games, playing with friends etc. Having said that, we are moving to also support a lot more eSports playing, which means comps will start when advertise, people will be forced to forfeit if they cant get ready in time, etc - at least in the pro matches.
Everyone is welcome to participate in anything they like, and in fact we encourage it Waiting in a bye for SC2? Have a game of GunGame or Time Crisis!
As for the SC2 comps specifically - Yes, Masters is GM/M, Intermediate is D/P and Amateur is G/S/B (and Copper if your really THAT bad :P)
So is there a way to know if you can get access to one of the rent PCs ahead of time? I really don't want to be lugging a massive heavy tower etc. around with me and it's the only computer I have access to... T_T

Yeah if you email chailes@sgl.org.au he can see what we have left (but most are gone I believe).

I would've definitely traveled down if there was a time crises tournament.
