I was thinking to myself today about map control and how it's achieved with each race, and I was wondering what the sc2sea community thought on this topic. I know that Terran can quite easily control the map with hellions, and zerg with speedlings, but what's the best unit for protoss to use to gain a little map control?
there army... depends on what stage of the game but generally toss get little control unless its with there army, mby blink stalkers in PvZ but idk that match up

It's the only one thing I don't like to much about protoss. I like the map control side of things and I've really been thinking of ways I could achieve this without really having to research any tech, like blink for example. Reason for that being that it starts costing more than it's worth most of the time.
Try to keep a stalker or probe on the watch tower.
Protoss is limited in their scouting in the early-mid game which makes your initial scout so important. For example, confirming if a Terran is 1 rax expanding, going gas, etc is incredibly important for Protoss since after that initial scout we're incredibly limited in our scouting. Unless you're going for an early all in timing your only scouting is probably going to come after you get an observer out ( aside from watch towers ). That's why most Protoss builds PvT are pretty safe overall against anything, because we can't really react with our builds like Terran can with scan and Zerg with ovie scout, plus they are pretty much given map control throughout the early game.
and then smash your keyboard as at the exact moment you reach the middle of the map terran drops your main
or you can calmly warp in 2 stalkers and 2 zealots to go with ur initial 4 stalkers patrolling the edge and stop the drop dead in its track... Well I guess smashing your keyboard in rage is easier.
I know that you play Protoss and I play Terran, but I really like just having my units sit at the watchtower (even without tanks). Gives you vision but it is also important in my opinion to have a zealot sitting on each pathway, so they cannot just run around your army. If anybody would like to correct me or critizise please feel free to

Check out my progress blog here
PvT: i have my first zealot on the tower nearest to my base, and first stalker on tower further from my base
PvZ: Zealot on my watch tower
PvP: same as my PvT.
Then i often use hallicuantion in each match up, aswell as a couple obs'.
Also i have been starting to use DT's again as a way to try scout and econ damage, after that i use them to try and keep map control and force extra resrouces into other players detection.
