This is a blog I've been waiting to make in a while.
I would like to thank everyone who believed in me and helped me in one way or another. The many #nem4gm and other encouragements etc etc.
Yes the frenzy started 3-4 weekends ago when my smurf aka alternate account was close to masters mmr. Then I failed. Only to try again the next weekend... swinging both my alternate and main account to top 3 with winning streaks only to be followed by losing ones. One word it was very tiring. Granted it has yoyo'd before but with lotv coming, the sense of urgency to achieve it just got more intense. I was feeling really discouraged and frustrated and demotivated only to tell myself to try again the next day and keep going. The feeling was really affecting me over these weeks and this weekend, I told myself to totally just focus on it just one more time. Time was running out. It felt many times that it wasn't meant to be and I would never get it.
So this weekend I was like, ok let's do this again. 2 people noted even how I was into it this weekend.
[24/10/2015 6:36:38 AM] Kenji Ky-Fries: nems gonna break her keybaord
[24/10/2015 6:36:45 AM] Kenji Ky-Fries: ques 0 seconds after each game
[24/10/2015 6:37:37 AM] Nick Murphy (nicky): nempls do not hit keyboard
[24/10/2015 6:37:41 AM] Nick Murphy (nicky): he is not fault ;;
So when I got it, I was so happy. It is not without much help and encouragements and I wish to acknowledge them. Because without them, I might had give up in despair. These past few weekends been really stressful for me even as most sc2 people are unaware of it as I didn't share with many. I didn't dare raise my hopes too much.
Kenji aka Freizya :
For his questions, Masters yet? Go ladder! Que!!! Keep laddering!!! and many other encouraging statements made over the past few weekends. Him and Mercy would tell me to stop laddering on KR and just on that one account. His 'just one more; I can feel it; gogo one more' which btw was many one mores because it was never the one that got me the promo lol. He also helped give advice and offered to watch replays to point out ways I could deal with my games better. Words alone cant express the encouragements and efforts he has put in to help me get to this point.
[24/10/2015 8:42:04 AM] Kenji Ky-Fries: quee
[24/10/2015 8:42:45 AM] Nick Murphy (nicky): visit the find match button
Mercy :
He's been waiting for this day. His coaching has been invaluable. His biggest help was in the matchup PvT where he fixed my opener and of course, I made him mad many times with my noob execution. He also taught me how to deal with mech PvT so that I win more and lose less (*hint : immortals op) Also he taught me about positioning because I would lose games when he felt I should had won. Given that so many of my games these past 2 days were mostly PvT, I think it has definitely helped a lot He even changed his skype name to 'NemesisGoGo! Masters' today to cheer me on even as he is busy with work.
Nickyboy aka Nicky though that isnt really his name :
He too encouraged often but his biggest contribution was probably name changing all his accounts to Nemesis last weekend when he knew how hard I was trying to get it and how demotivated I keep getting (the yoyos). Then it in turn motivated him to get on all of them (one more to go). So no, Nem didnt get as . Funnily, MK was the first to name an account Nemesis to try to get KR gm. Also another
Ironically this morning, he said in the SC2SEA chatbox :
[5:10 AM] nickyboy:today's the day that gets masters
[5:10 AM] nickyboy:I can feel it
[5:14 AM] mGGNemesis:lol
[5:14 AM] nickyboy:sorry nem's busy today
[5:14 AM] nickyboy:she has a date
[5:14 AM] nickyboy:with the find match button
On a different note :
I had also announced to the other officiers/captains in that when this moment happens, I will write a blog and also take the opportunity to make an important announcement.
I have always enjoyed organising and managing events and the clan. But work has kept me quite busy and with my girl approaching an important school year next year, I will be taking a step back from most of my usual stuff.
Jieun and Slayer will now be the main leaders for . They are both responsible and passionate and I believe they are able to steer the clan in the direction needed as we head towards LOTV.
I am also unlikely to continue the regular GPD opens. One main reason is the lack of support for such events on a regular basis. While it is also contributed to a lower player pool and even fewer GPD players, the motivation to keep going has been on a decline with this lack of support for it. The joy of organising is when there is support. So when there are players and fewer walkovers, organisers would be more inclined to want to do more too. But with next year also being more busy for me, I have to prioritise one over the other.
However I still do like organising stuff so I might still do a irregular version of it or something. Who knows?
For now, I'm just happy to finally get that exclusive .

It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.
