I'm really happy with today's SSL. Everyone had a great time, the matches were AMAZING and my computer behaved itself, no errors! Woot!
This thread is to highlight what you liked about SSL and how we can improve. Thanks for your input!
Feedback:
- Group Stage, Round Robin will be eliminated from SSL, it will revert to single elimination, no player limit (Challonge allows for that). Qualifiers will be played 1 week ahead of SSL till there are 16 players left over. Best of 3
- I leave the computers LAN time running during the competition. Now I am now being charged for those computers so the question is: Do you want the free LAN time at your computersto continue after you get knocked out OR for me to put the money saved into the prize pool (roughly $50). Yes for SSL's tradition of running LAN time, No if you rather I put the money saved into the prize pool
- Community games, SSL isn't just for high level 1v1s. Any suggestions on how to get the community more involved? Perhaps Nirvana has the right idea with StarJeweled?
- Give me feedback on how the marshaling went. Was it clear, did you know the match maps, opponents, etc..
That's about all I can think of. Photos and Tournament write-ups by DDengster! No VODs for this SSL, I really do need the rest and I have to catch up on my work. To get the replays, click here
Everything ran pretty smoothly, I liked the system as it was. Custom games for the community are a good idea, not sure which I'd prefer - Starjeweled isn't bad, but perhaps some more time to test out games and see what people like?
