As we all know, in TvT there are three main styles: mech, bio and marine tank. It seems to be the case that pure bio is not viable vs marine tank since you don't have the mobility advantage, so going into a game you have to decide if mech or marine tank is your choice. What do you normally use to make this decision? I've been thinking of doing it on a map by map basis, with the easily turtled 3-base maps like derelict watcher and star station being mech maps since you can defend all of your bases with a single extended tank line and more open maps like bel'shir vestige being marine tank due to the need for additional mobility. I know a lot of people do it based on preference but it's worth learning both for BoX series in my opinion. Other than this, is there anything else you use to make this decision?

The recent Acer Team Story cup games between Complexity and Millenium showcase a lot of TvT mech games particularly at the start of the series. Seems that post patch on quite a few of the maps it is the go to strategy for these guys.
though I agree I haven't seen much of it on Bel'Shir Vestige to date.
