Not only force fields, but a wall of gateways in front of your natural and your third will stop roaches from being able to burrow under you. A solid sim-city stops me in my tracks every time.

Honestly i don't think you can even go Voidrays. The entire point of the Stephano FastMax style is so that you have a huge tier 1 army extremely early consisting of Roaches and Lings. Voidrays dont kill Roaches nearly fast enough; They'll simply remax and just push your base down.
Day9 did a daily on this and made a really strong point: It's a big TIER 1 ARMY. They are incredibly strong early game, but in that time period when they are going Hive and Broodlords, your army should be vastly superior to theirs. With a ball of Colossi, Immortals, Sentries, Stalkers, and Voidrays, you should be able to easily steamroll through their army.
