We are pleased to announce that WCS ANZ Season 1 is almost here! This season there will be two qualifying slots for the region, double what was offered in 2016.

With no direct invites in season 1, the Open Qualifier will find 16 of the regions best to fight it out in a Round of 16 competition. In 2016 the Round of 16 fed into a Round of 4. This season the battlefield changes to instead find our champions in a single Round of 16 competition played out over two days.

Residency requirements remain the same, restricted to residents or permanent citizens of the ANZ and South East Asia region.

The Open Bracket will be played on March 25th with the Round of 16 occurring on the 1st and 2nd of April.

Your friendly admins Bloodyrafe and Ascarecrow are back for 2017 so be sure to reach out to them if you have any questions or concerns!

So the top 2 of the Ro16 of this event go to WCS Austin? Is that how this works?


EDIT: Just a touch confused because the signup page for this mentions 1 player going to the 'WCS Premier League 2017, and sharing in $10,000AUD' - but we're getting 2 seeds to WCS Austin, right? Which features much more than that in prize pool..

its top 2. did update few hours ago but esl system kept being slow. re did it. hope it worked. also prize money is for qualifiers.

Is it possible to have a look at the prize pool distribution again? One of the main requests from last season was that it trickled down a little more... I mean, it's great that you guys aren't paying the top 4 twice again, but cutting $1000 from the top 2 or something to give 9th-12th some incentive would be nice :/
