If you are placed in bronze and then want to get to silver, do you have to get to #1 in bronze and then get more points to crack into silver? or is it just a mater of winning X number of games v Y number of losses?
It's basically beating players with a better MMR then you ^^. So if you see yourself consistantly beating bronze players and taking games off silver players then you'll be promoted soon.
Just so you know, ladders are now locked so if your MMR improves significantly during this ladder lock period, you can jump from bronze to gold or plat after the replacement in season 3.
It is a matter of winning against opponents with higher MMR. #1 in your league does not necessarily have higher MMR. To get ptomoted to silver, you have to be winning against silver opponents. Most of the time, having MMR close to higher league occurs at the same time as getting into top 3 of your division though. A rule of thumb is - if you have no bonus pool and are facing higher league opponents, you are very close to getting promoted, and should focus on winning steadily, not quantity of games.
Oooh i get it now. Lol my mate thought he had to get to number 1 in bronze and then he'd be able to go to silver from there (he was looking at the points column).
I was 40th in my league and 600 or so bonus pool when I got promoted, but I had taken a long break. I never made it top 8 in my league though, so just play consistently to improve and you'll start playing silvers.
