Say what!?
So people paying attention to looking for clan threads or looking for SEACL team threads may have noticed a sudden influx of players dropping the FaDe tag and looking to join new clans
So it goes without saying the FaDe is now actually 100% dead and will be disbanding TT
Before people jump to conclusions there was now row or falling out etc and while some of the guys might not be willing to shout me a beer there is no ill will amoungst anybody
************************************************** ************************************************** * TL;DR: FaDe has always been a social clan at its core - some players wanted a clan with a much stronger competitive SC2 aspect
************************************************** ************************************************** *
What happened?
FaDe grew as an almost entirely social clan, we played clan wars but we also mucked around and just hung out and chatted. When our mainly and players ranked up to and even players got the taste for real competitive play. That is when Team FaDe was birthed.
Myself, then team manager byrnsy and Cure suggested we delay the team announcement to work out some potential problems and so we could work towards something unique and special. The delay sowed the seeds of negativity
Shortly thereafter I became homeless, computerless and internetless for several months and while I tried to set it up so it could work autonomously but it didn't take
I finally got internet that I could use and was greeted to people claiming FaDe was dead and this went on until this day when it actually happened. Several people grew tired of SC2 a took up other games with only a few playing SC2 regularly which lead to the impression the FaDe was dead.
I did my best to stay motivated and build towards the FaDe that many wanted while trying to retain that strong social core that made FaDe so special.
In the end FaDe fell victim to a self fulfilling prophecy when one person surprised everyone by saying he was leaving which sparked another and another and so on and so forth.
FaDe was left at a point where it was very iffy on whether or not we could field even one team for SEACL. When Daedalus left FaDe (longest serving member of FaDe and a good friend) because he wanted to play in SEACL and that was looking less and less likely each day - that was the last straw for me.
I could rebuild FaDe but that wouldn't be possible most likely until the release of HotS and I also didn't want players who were keen for SEACL to miss out so I made the sickeningly sad decision to disband FaDe. Trying to run FaDe had become very stressful trying to do what was best for FaDe and its players and a constant depressing fight to stay motivated all the while some sung songs of its demise for the last several months
Final Words
When I was in Korea I didn't have many friends so FaDe and the people in it were very important to me
It really saddens me to see it die especially with all the promise HotS held.
That said I understand why most left and wish them the best of luck in their new homes
So on behalf of FaDe, to everyone we warred and to the whole SC2SEA scene I bid thee goodnight, it was a dance I will never forget
(cheesy but too many people have told me "good while it lasted so don't want to say that :P)
Sad news. Great group of people. Some really talented players as well. I'm sure everyone will find new homes.
I started my SC2 journey with FaDe. Middle level Gold/Plat player, didn't know many people in the community. This was before we had ACL's, Lans, and most online tournaments. I learnt a lot from my time there, and these guys are one of the main reasons i wanted to give back to the community running a few tournaments myself, and improving as a player all the way to GM. I've made many friends in the wider community since, but it's important to remember where you started.
Meatex did an amazing job running the clan, with help from key lieutenants.
FaDe was a great social clan. Thanks for the memories guys, and good luck.
Eddie sums it up best. This is really sad and for those not in FaDe like me, this news was really unexpected too. You guys helped grow so many starcraft talents in the community we see today.
I will always remember FaDe as one of the first and most loved SC2SEA house clans.
Me too Meat, even though some of us left, I don't think we have spoken enough to how much we have valued your leadership of FaDe over the years. Despite our difference in perspectives, we really appreciate the burden you took on, and the effort you have put forward for the clan and for us as individuals.
A lot of the current members probably don't know who I am or perhaps remember me, but I was there from near the beginning. Even though I left a while ago in persuite of other games, I am honestly sad that FaDe has finished it's run. It was a home for me on SEA. It brought me many new friends, some of which I'm still in contact with to this day. I'll miss you all ♥

jk, really sad to see this happen, I joined FaDe when i was in platinum and a lot of the players there really helped my progress, and thus caused starcraft to become an integral part of my life, whilst the clan might be gone, the friendship and motivation remains =)
GL all
