So I don't usually write blogs... but I guess with all the stuff that's been happening lately I have a few interesting things to write about so why not.
My Story
It all started after my disappointment from finishing 6th at ACL Sydney (yes, 6th is very disappointing for me). When I walked out of that venue without a podium finish that I wanted, all I could think about in my head was... I wanted to be better, I hate losing, I wanted to practice and train harder than everyone else to... [Read More]
We will forgo the sentimental introduction this time around. I'll be doing a multi-part blog about my feelings towards some of my most memorable opponents in my SC2 Journey. The names listed were either my idols and/or rivals. I am happy to say that the majority of them I can claim to be my friends as of today.
This is part one - Idols.
NirvAnA - This was the name I typed into youtube and google when I was still a developing player trying to learn the game. He was my idol and the... [Read More]
I've done many regretful and damaging things to the scene in the past months (specifically after the inauguration of sR), and this will serve as an apology to all that were affected and to those that I betrayed. It will also serve as a constant reminder that I made a lot of mistakes in the past few months and that I will try
So after hearing about Pox's return to Starcraft 2, I decided to shoot him a few questions about why he left and what his plans are for the future. Here's how it went down:
Pox: "The last time we saw you play SC2 was last night around 1am. When did you decide to you wanted to leave the professional scene?"
Pox: "I decided to take a break around 10 hours ago when I wanted to get on with life, close my eyes, sleep for 7 hours, etc. I was getting a bit bored of losing to Protoss so I decided... [Read More]
Firstly a word of warning. This blog will be long.
I've been planning to do this blog for some time, but never got around to it. However I've finally found the time. I want to reflect on Starcraft II, and tell you the story of how I first began to play Starcraft, and to love it. However, to read this blog, you must know me. For those who don't, I'll introduce myself.
My name is Joel, I use the alias FaDeUndoNe, but was also previously called FaDeRicocheT. Thus if anyone wonders why... [Read More]
All of this is from memory -- I'm not going to fact check any of this. Also, I'd like to say that this event was easily the best event I've been to in SC2. That includes going over to Korea for the GSTL, going to multiple MLGs. This event will easily be a memory that I'll hold closely for years and years to come. Anyway, to
Last week, I posted a thread about Razer Singapore hiring. I thought it was pretty cool since there are quite a few capable writers in sc2sea, and I believe that they could more than handle the job.
Well, I wrote a non-conventional cover letter just to see if it would work. They actually called me up for an interview! Here's the cover letter as requested, just gonna cut and paste the content.
So let it be noted that during this search for Minimats computer building issues I had to edit a lot of redundant or inappropriate text out of the skype conversation, what remains is a glimpse at Minimats journey through building his new PC.
Be aware there is some obscene language which I have hidden under spoiler tags, and have done my best to format this excessive amount of screwing up and talking about it on skype, but prepare yourselves, this was quite the exercise of Minimats brain and... [Read More]
So we have all heard his thoughts, which as retarded as they are he has actually THOUGHT about. Now I bring you, 'Shit that Minimat says with NO THOUGHT.' (Keep in mind I may have to make a few of these blogs to capture all his best lines from chatbox and skype; Not even finished one month yet..)
Sometimes I wonder if he is just this amazing troll bringing laughs and joy into our lives, then I realise he's not and wonder if he is okay.
Minimat has begun embarking in his Tafe studies, but... [Read More]
I recently got back from 5 days at the "TA Retreat" hosted by TAVoices (Spud) and it stands at one of the highlights of my time involved in StarCraft. While there were some moments to top these involving "baking" I will try not to go into detail here both to keep this read suitable for everyone and to keep from embarassing some people. Basically what it was, was a week of about 20 friends from TA/StarCraft drinking, socialising, eating junk food... [Read More]
Yo yo, here are some more thoughts for you to ponder on. Please reply to them
Can robots be programmed to have feelings?
How come sound can go through things but heat can't?
What is time? I was talking to a friend about how apparently there is this new thing that allows you to go faster then the speed of light which makes you move through time slower which apparently allows for time travel. But what is time?
How come it is illegal to park in a handicap spot but it isn't to poop in... [Read More]
do people who are born deaf have intellectual thoughts? I think in English and if you were born deaf you wouldn't know a language so how could you think?
Same with dogs, what do they think in? Are their barks their language?
If there are other intelligent life forms do you think they would have invented shit like the wheel or the steam engine?
Why are some people so ******* stupid and cannot settle a dispute with words. And how are some... [Read More]
So I've played another ~70 games on the KR server. This is in masters league playing against Masters level opponents, so no shitty "I do timing attack and transition into fail" players. So far...
Korean Zergs still seem to be bad. They're really aggressive, but in dumb ways. Recently I've been tuning a TvZ reaper opening and it's hard to measure it's effectiveness when about half the Zergs on KR throw... [Read More]
Inspired by syntox's lack of kiwis in his rankings; this is where I feel that the current New Zealand standings are; with the current rate of improvement of our players I can see some big changes in this line-up during the coming months.
Ninja lost to Pezz in a game.
Things would never be the same.
Pezz approached with the offer of a shake of the hand.
Ninja declined, he wouldn't meet Pezz's demand.
Instead he climbed down from the stage.
When you looked into his eyes, all you could see was rage.
Later that day, he could be seen in shame.
He let everyone know "Protoss is lame".
This isn't Wings of liberty, was his claim.
In Heart of the Swarm, Protoss wasn't as tame.
Was that just an excuse, or was Blizzard to... [Read More]
Hmmmm so instead of doing the mountains of homework I need to do I thought I would take some time to talk about boobs.
Recently chatbox was shocked as a member of the site revealed he is infact "not a tits man" even nirvAnA was dismayed at this revelation and much protest from the chatters ensued.
Now even as a straight female I think boobs are pretty awesome.
Forget the fact that they provide nourishment to babies and you got to suck of them when you first entered the world, but they... [Read More]
I'm currently located in the arse end of New South Wales with barely much to do at all except listen to nieces/nephew cry an awful lot and get drained dry by mosquitoes so here's a simplified power ranking for us all to not argue over at all. If you do debate my clearly irrefutable findings then I will get Tgun to ban you. He'll do it.
NOT SHIT TIER
Glade. There's nothing to discuss here is there? Glade won some things he played in and unlike the rest of us useless bastards can actually... [Read More]
For the love of eSports
All I want to do is light the fire.
All I want to do is light the fire.
The reason I was drawn to StarCraft as a community and eSports as an entity surpassed the gaming aspect and drove straight into the heart of what I always saw - a place where outcasts the world over were accepted and celebrated for what they contributed to a game they love.
I feel like these are the guys to watch out for since they have been the strong title contenders throughout 2012 for the major LANs in AUS. mOOnGLaDe, PiG and MaFia are the most hardworking zergs in SEA while KingKong has the experience and knowledge having trained in the StarTale house (although I feel if he doesn't practice due to his studies, he will struggle towards the end of the year). I would be surprised if it wasn't one of... [Read More]
So today Fourby, Fenner and I started new hardcore characters.
Fenner started a DH and I started a barb, but then I died at level three because I fanged it too hard into mobs after removing my shield and being a badass duel wielding ************ like I am.
So then Fourby joined in and said he wanted to play a DH too, but Fenner said "no we will die we need a melee person" so I volunteered to play a barb again (even though clearly I am too hardcore for a barb)
Hello all, for people who don't know me i'm Gerred "Laughing Man" Lennon I'm a Commentator and Media producer for Quantic Gaming.
Now the reason i started this blog is because mainly i am bored and i'll be honest i've never really written a blog before i just kinda wanted to see if people liked this kinda thing and i might make this a regular thing maybe a monthly thing let me know.
Anyway, Casting Starcraft II is probably the most funnest and challenging thing i've ever had to do i... [Read More]
