So with the newest patch just on the way, Hearthstone's Arena mode raised its Arena win cap from 9 to 12.
Curious to see what the new prizes may be, I tried my luck out in Arena, and got a pretty good deck, full of draws and abusable mechanics.
and...
I was quite surprised as my usual win rate is only about 60+% (4-5 wins) for arena (I track my win/loss in a spreadsheet). So I went on a run, and when I hit 10 wins I knew I had a chance for the magic 12.
So as some of you may know, several days ago the 5th Birthday contest started and it was a puzzle contest by xpaperclip. You can still try it here , but try not to click on the hints because he has released so many hints that some levels become meaningless. Many of us solved it without the hints so you should try it too!
This was supposed to be a triumphant blog entry celebrating my victory but unfortunately, Pox came from nowhere and SNIPEd the win in the last level. Since I had already... [Read More]
It was a PvP on Ohana (I randomed), and given how I don't like PvP, I went for my standard PvP build:
Proxy 2 gate! Unfortunately, he scouted it with his probe after seeing nothing in my base, and promptly puts down a gateway and forge. (His pylon is on the low ground because... [Read More]
BSG players normally ask 'how do i improve?' and a common piece of advice given is 'improve your macro first, don't worry too much about strategy, etc'.
I just played a (horrible) game on ladder (TvT) which illustrates just this point I think.
I basically do everything wrong this game - opened with proxy 2 rax which got scouted and failed, A moved into a tank line (multiple times) with MMM, reacted slow to drops, got... [Read More]

I originally posted this on my personal blog, but thought I'll just post it here too to let people who are really bored have some reading material

I just made the mistake of trying to play standard against a Protoss and forgot that they can win on one base.
What's stronger than a 2 base 6 gate timing/ 7gate all in ? A 1 base immortal all-in. (ok maybe not, but I've had more practice with the former than the latter)
(All games were from TCP vs iRL in SEACL, basically me vs ZiggyD)
Just played an epic game and felt that I HAD to share it, it was sooo intense! It will almost be play by play because no other way of presentation will do it justice.
Just to give the game some context, I was hanging around in the chatbox earlier and Shortizzz was talking about how 7 pooling was a legit strat on maps like Shakuras, TDA, where your opponent is definitely going to FFE. On Shakuras it's even better because you don't have to Drone scout, your OL will be able to tell you where... [Read More]

Ok this was just a simple set of practice games with my clan mate iRLdKiwi, a pretty solid ! We played 3 games in total, so let's just call it a Bo3 They were (mostly) pretty good games so I'll just writeup for fun!
I had contemplated for a long while if I should join a clan. I did want the practice, but I wasn't going to be able to commit much time due to school commitments. I did want to compete in the PDCL as well too.
After hearing about TCP's in-house ladder, I wanted in on it and so I asked Frogmite if I could trial there. Being the kind soul he is, he welcomed me with open arms, and I got even better news when he told us that a team had pulled out of the PDCL, and TCP would be replacing them. [Read More]
As many of you may know, I've been streaming a whole lot recently. It started off when I got the D3 beta and I wanted to stream it, so I finally decided to figure out how to set a stream up, and it just carried over to SC2 from there naturally.
I stream basically all the time I'm playing, so you can tune in any time! Special thanks to the regular viewers such as Bjornbrandr, Dtorr, Zoom, Nemo, Antarnis, minimat, Aean, etc...
I'm sorry if I left your name... [Read More]
Just a quick update on what I'm up to for those interested -
1) Still continuing to ladder regularly as RANDOM and STREAMING!
I'm enjoying playing all 3 races and letting the random dice decide which I use I am still in Diamond League but I am winning a considerable portion of my games (60%?)... hoping it doesn't promote me though haha as my P and T aren't up to scratch yet (my Z is nothing to boast about)
And because my PC is decent and I've a good Internet connection, I can basically... [Read More]
Hey! So I've decided to ladder on crAzerk (my Master league Zerg acct) again after getting more or less warmed up after my 2 months hiatus. Needless to say, I have still much to learn, and so this new series will be about my ladder experiences in in Master league -
So, after a week (or two?) or playing SC2 again after my 2 months hiatus.... My official verdict is... I am Diamond league AT BEST. Those who have been watching my stream can testify to this.. my mechanics are horrible and all bleahz.
So anyway, I will probably be still playing more and trying to get back the feel of it all, and should be streaming on a regular basis.
Now you might ask... why on earth am I announcing this? Well because, I want to join the GPD!
So the first phase of my journey as outlined here is done!
I took the effort to take down a one-liner as to how each game went, and perhaps this game will give Gold players an idea what it takes to get promoted? Hmm.
What led me to make this post was the introduction of PDCL (Platinum Diamond Clan League). Well, there were other precipitating factors but this was the trigger I suppose.
If you didn't know my history, I was previously in Diamond league and I started playing more everyday and made a push to hit Masters. I even documented my process in a mini-series 'Road to Masters', which have led to minor spinoffs and even spoofs.
So... some of you may know that my old PC has been down for awhile and since it was old I decided to get a new one, and have been waiting for it for a week now!
I got a custom built one from fortran, a very highly recommended forumer on HWZ (a tech forum for SG). Everyone was saying how good he was, how friendly he was, etc. So i decided to try him out!
Ok I know some of you tech geeks are just waiting to see the specs and don't care for my storytelling, so here they are:
Hey guys! I've just come back from a 2month hiatus from SC2, and I can't wait to start playing again! Have been busy with WoW and just recently quit!
The problem now is my PC just died on me, and I'll be replacing it ASAP. I have a laptop but I was never able to play properly on it.
Anw obviously after 2 months of not playing.. My skills are rusty like hell! I hopped on a friend's account to play 3 ladder games (he was Plat) and LOST all 3 games ag Plat players! They were pretty clearcut... [Read More]
Hey guys! I've decided to retain the name of my column 'Road to Masters' because it's got a ring to it and I like it Basically when I'm going to blog about anything related to my actual gameplay, I'm going to use that as a title.
Before I continue with this short entry, if people are actually interested in reading what I've been up to, you can click to read more. If not, just skip on to the rest of it's ok. I won't be hurt. Much.

Hey guys, I've alot to say so I'll try to divide this up into meaningful sections so you can read what matters to you. It is pretty long and reflective, so if you're the kind that's 'TLDR', you can stop reading.
I know I said in previous blog posts that I would be continuing the series about my games in Masters League. However, after much deliberation, I have decided not to. A few reasons led to this
I am crAzerk, and I've been playing Starcraft since the original. I love the game, and I love writing, thus the chance to combine both passions excited me to no end. So here I am, providing (hopefully) entertaining writeups for you guys!
I aspire to be in Masters League. And I will strive hard to fight my way out of Diamond. This column will document my journey. Each time, I will write about five or more games that I've

Ooh above 50%. I thought I would be below 50% considering what I did last time.... Won't say what it is ;D
ANYWAY, for those who are constantly theorycrafting about how promotion worked, this was my recent record, in reverse order (e.g. most recent match first)

Ok, back to the column
This is a special edition of the Road To Masters (RTM) series, when I am going to write a bit more than recap my games (which take more time because of screenshots)
Also, I want to ladder more, so less time for writing long recaps!
