We will forgo the sentimental introduction this time around. I'll be doing a multi-part blog about my feelings towards some of my most memorable opponents in my SC2 Journey. The names listed were either my idols and/or rivals. I am happy to say that the majority of them I can claim to be my friends as of today.
This is part one - Idols.
NirvAnA - This was the name I typed into youtube and google when I was still a developing player trying to learn the game. He was my idol and the... [Read More]
This blog is going to be me blabbering about something I've felt for a while, so disregard the poor English/grammar.
You guys probably know me as someone that is competitive and dislike being looked down upon, but that was the only second biggest motivator for me to play SC2. Number one was the close friendships and comradery that I've experienced in my SC2 life. My 1st return to the game was because I wanted to be apart of the xGKing team in SEACL.
Lately I've been feeling very lonely... [Read More]
I realise playing this many games is really unhealthy, and I say this after a 10 hour ladder session. I've become obsessed with points, investing way too much emotion into winning and losing, especially losing. Been angry at people who try to talk to me and get absolutely nothing else done.
May 2013, the last month of an eventful one year long-distance relationship with my girlfriend. Needless to say being the last month of solitude, I was determined to play many games of HoTs. I was also very motivated to improve at HoTs, after laying an egg in Arena LAN (no offense to Satu and Taz, they were much better HoTs players then me there), annoyed at forever watching ZvZ finals, and always feeling underrated. Also reading this Being a foreigner right now - and ACL Brisbane made me... [Read More]
I've just recently begun streaming and haven't really caught on to an identity like some of the more regular streamers. Please help me find my own identity and streaming style.
Hence I'd like to to ask for some feedbacks and suggestions on my streaming style.
What is entertaining to you guys?
How much should I be talking? Should I be joking around or focusing on strategy?
No I will not go shirtless.
As some of you may know, I recently replaced my faulty graphics card (w/ ACL winnings) and started to stream my practices again. But I'm still using the old WoL overlay and people on my stream has been complaining. Could anyone help me out? I'm absolutely helpless with graphics stuff. I can perform physical services as a reward.
We have never neglected to applaud the amazing players amongst us in our small community, but we often forget about the tireless and socially iconic team managers that have been such an important representation of their respective organisations. I would like to take this chance to recognise and direct our applause to their absolutely tireless effort and amazing work produced by Chadmann and Arnor in recent times. However at the same time, we must not forget someone like Benji - The first iconic... [Read More]
SEACL has always been extremely important to me. The memories, the great rivalries, the team comradery and bonds, the competitiveness, and the drama within the previous SEACL's are unforgettable for myself. Just like SEACL2 marked my motivation to return to SCII after a long hiatus, SEACL3 has reignited some of my competitive drive for SCII, I simply want to contribute and not let my team down. I have thoroughly enjoyed competing for iM, and cheering for all my other favourite teams across all... [Read More]
This self proclaimed god of PvP is indeed good at PvP as he 2-0'd me recently in practice. But I'd like to call him out to a grudge match BO7. I'm doing this partially to promote competition, especially our weak PvP in SEA, and also because I want to defeat the God of PvP to attain the title for myself!
BRING IT!
Scheduled for 20:00pm AEST Tuesday 20/11/12
Playing for the title of God of PvP(in sea).
It is pretty late and I am very sleepy so I'll try to make this as brief as possible.
Grubby Interview
I was watching this interview of Grubby at MLG earlier today(above). Grubby talked (starting about 7:10)about how our brains all have the capacity to improve rapidly but only do so based on "the competition out there". Combined with the fact that I felt pretty average during MLG Dallas, and one of our best players in Pig exposing exactly how bad we are on his blog the... [Read More]
I posted this in the other blog but thought this deserved it's own blog:
ToRPezz is not "Light's Student". Please stop calling him that, people. It annoys both me and him. Pezz only took a 1 hour lesson on me backwhen he was in Platinum League, and I what I taught him was pretty much the old 3 gate expand against Terran, on an outdated map like Xel'Naga Caverns, so literally I had nothing to do with his rise to become the player he is right now. He showed very quick learning abilities during... [Read More]
I recently bought a lesson from Petraeus to encourage him to earn his dosh rather then beg for it.
As I was drinking my daily cup of tea before work today, I thought about this for approximately two minutes and have decided that I don't really want a 15 year old pretty boy to order me around and tell me what to do.So I'm going to give this lesson away.
First person who replies to this blog, that shows genuine interest in the lesson can have it from me.
Throughout my stint with Xeria Gaming, I was treated with utmost respect and friendship. I was well looked after from a player's standpoint and thoroughly enjoyed great friendships and comradery within the team. Benji has been a marvelous manager - hard working, pleasant, professional, flexible, and always looking out for the team as his best interest. I have tremendous amount of respect for the man, and he will always be a... [Read More]
Lately there has been alot of blogs which introduces their blog with a summary of other blogs mentioning getting better at StarCraft, and getting fit etc despite the fact that we are only human and only have twenty-fours hours a day. Nevertheless, we need to get better at StarCraft, get better at job or actually get a job, be a better family member, be a better boyfriend/girlfriend, get better at astrology and be kinder to the indigenous - So I thought I might do the same! As some of you may have noticed, I have been severely inactive in SCII for the past month or two, only occasionaly popping up to a tournament, flirting with my female opponent and losing, or cheesing out some super mannered Japanese dude on TCL.
I've been going through some pretty hefty changes in my personal life, and that has drastically distracted me in trying to compete in SCII. But then that was the problem in itself, I was only playing the game to "compete". I was no longer enjoying the... [Read More]
As some of you may know, I have been recently involved in many SEA Lan tournaments/events within the last fortnight (16-09 -> 25-09), such as the Blizzcon Invitationals in Sydney, the Gigabyte E-Sports at the Respawn Lan in Melbourne, and the WCG Brisbane Qualifiers. During this time, I got to meet some truly amazing people, and am really stocked I can now call these people my friends. I had quite some ups and downs in terms of StarCraft, but came away at the...
