Nearly three years ago now, on the 23rd of March back in 2011 - Time of Rising was officially established. It has been a good three years full of hilarity, insanity and ton of dedication to boot. Faces have come and gone, but we have not forgotten.
To celebrate the time that we have shared over the last few years, both past and present members of ToR are invited to participate in an evening where we will sit down, chuck open a few skype calls and play some goddamn StarCraft 2; the game that has brought the group together over the past few years.
ToR FFA
Starbow
Team Games
Phantom
Race Wars
And an assortment of other customs!
So come along Saturday the 22nd of March at 7.30pm AEDT and we will see out the end of the third year of in style.
One one final note, I just wanted to say thank you guys from the bottom of my heart. I don't think ToR would be what it is today without all the contributions you have made both individually and collectively over the years. Here's to three years, let's go for several more! iGG
We are the Sc2 Community and Clan Time of Rising, better known as ToR. We were founded March 2011 and have been going strong ever since.
Back in the days the current Leader of ToR (Spartaz), thought that it would be a cool idea to see if there were any within the community that had interest in joining together to form a small casual group of people/clan. So he asked the Sc2sea community to see who would be keen on joining up to this newly formed clan. A small group of 10 players (Mainly between Bronze and Gold, with the exception of a few really ambitious players ), whose sole focus was to just hang out enjoy each others company and more importantly share that same love for the game as each other.
Its interesting to think back to how things all began from being such a small clan in comparison with the size and the skill of big clans such as TA, aLt and nGen. Compared with today where we have grown into quite a large community with a whole range of people who share different and then similar goals and dreams.
What I find really interesting about how far we have come, is that its despite us growing in numbers that same culture that I imagined for ToR has come through and what I still don’t understand at the best of times is how you guys still stuck with me throughout.
And now how far we have come, as always each of us aiming higher to achieve more than we set out to achieve. ToR will continue to support every single of its members as we take on new challenges that will test our determination and our limits. I can gurantee you guys, that ToR will always have more to offer the community so keep an eye out for what we can achieve.
What is Team ToR and how will the Team impact on the Community?
Well first and foremost Team ToR, is going to be a Team that will represent our community within the SEA scene and the wider eSports community. For all you ToR guys don't worry! I am still going to be leading ToR as best that I can and will always make time for each and every single one of you guys!
Where to next for Team ToR?
Well first and foremost amongst our goals in the near future, we will be competing and actively participating in the events across SEA.
We will be aiming to establish ourselves within the SEA scene and we will be working to prove to the community that Team ToR has what it takes to become a dominant force in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
Currently we are still looking for sponsorship and have been in contact with a few organisations that have shown some interest in what we seek to achieve.
Now to introduce the players and the supporting members that will make this Team possible:
First of all I really want to shout out to all the ToR guys. Over the last few months it has been rough on me with school and life, but regardless I have no clue how you guys put up with me. But I really would like to thank each and every single one of you guys to continue to support me in all of my efforts and I hope I will continue to be as good a leader as I was (At least I hope I was good O_o)
I am really happy to be announcing the establishment of this team. For me personally, I have always greatly valued this idea of eSports and am really looking forward to supporting my players to as best my ability. I will continue to give my all to the community and my team, ToR Fiiighting yo!
A few words from Baldie on becoming a part of this team.
Quote:
I’d like to firstly thank my family, namely my parents, for bringing me up to the man I am now today and for being by my side this whole process, couldn’t have done it without you. To my friends, you know who you are, big fan of all your work. I’d also like to thank the industry for being such a cornerstone of my life and career.
Outside of anything cliché, it’s with great anticipation and excitement that I accept a position to officially cast for the ToR A Team. Although never a vision of mine, I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting players and becoming more involved in the game as a result of casting. I look forward to continuing to develop both my casting skills but also the quality and entertainment value of any streaming services I provide!
I remember back when I first started talking to Brad about eSports and possibly joining ToR back when Pookie introduced me to him. What I admire most about Baldie is how passionate and dedicated he is to growing and developing eSports. The first thing I noticed about Baldie when I got to know him was how alike we were, he has such vision and is so highly motivated to giving his all to the community, so I am really excited working with Baldie as our official caster. I know that he will represent Team ToR exceptionally well.
A few words from DanO on becoming a part of this team.

I’m very happy to be a part of the new Time of Rising team. Time of Rising has a lot of friendly and talented people, which I have had the pleasure to meet. I will give you a little backstory about myself, I love Real Time Strategy games. I have memories of playing Age of Empires, and Red Alert when I was very young. And then I discovered WarCraft 3, which I played for about 4 years, until I switched over to StarCraft 2, which I have been playing since the late beta, and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. I’m currently playing as a hobby, but I’m still trying hard to improve, which Time of Rising has helped me do so. And I will continue improving, and representing Time of Rising, in all future competitions.
One of the original founding members of ToR. Daniel has consistently performed and always strived to improve and give his all to his goals and ambitions in Sc2. Out of all the members of ToR I have known him the longest and have shared one hell of a rivalry with him (Although I can be sure to admit that I am nowhere near his equal in Sc2 for sure ). Dan has always been a positive and active member of ToR and I know that he will continue to give his all to the team and the community and I am happy to be able to say that he has a bright future ahead of him.
A few words from Zoomy on becoming a part of this team.

Joining a team will make me more of a competitive player. My goals right now it to become a top player on sea and maybe expand internationally. Representing ToR as a team is a huge step forward from being a clan and I’m really excited to play for a team and contribute to the team to help it grow.
On joining ToR after the crux disbandment () I have always noticed how positive and fun to be around Zoom really is. He has really become part of this community and has never been shy to express his opinion on thing or join in on clan activities and events. A player to definitely watch out for, his high speed and unit control really define him as a player and I am looking forward to see how ZooM can represent Team ToR within the SEA community.
Pox has really opened some eyes over the last few months with some pretty big tournament results such as pulling an amazing 3rd place at ACL Melbourne and consistently performing well across the wT Opens and The Sc2sea Masters Cup. Anthony has definitely proved himself to be another outstanding member within our community, whenever a fellow ToR Zerg needs his help he is always there to help out. I have to admire how willingly he stepped into this team role, an integral part of the team I know like his fellow team members that he will support each and every single one of his teammates as we all progress towards our goals and objectives.
A few words from SkrawL on becoming a part of this team.
Quote:
My goals are to get really good and encourage my team mates to practice hard to become a fearsome team in SEA. I'm happy to represent my brothers in this game, StarCraft. ToR is a super friendly team; we are constantly supporting each other in events to give each other THAT OUNCE OF STRENGTH THAT WE NEED TO TAKE IT HOME!
Skrawlly skrawlly skrawlly. Justin has always impressed me with his overall positive attitude to improving and his general manner in which he conducts himself. He focuses on where he needs to be at exceptionally well and never is one to say no to any practice sessions and games with any of his fellow team mates. Definitely a strong Zerg player to look out for across the SEA competitions as this guy is out to prove what he is made of and I know that we can expect great things from him.
A few words from Peek on becoming a part of this team.
Quote:
When I was considering clans to join, ToR seemed like the best option, (despite the Clan Leader being exceptionally ugly). The people, culture and atmosphere in ToR seems like something awesome to be a part of. After I joined, I immediately knew I wasn't wrong (including Nick's ugliness). And I'm happy I got the chance to play in ToR A Team.
Haha definitely one unique player to say the least. I remember back when Peek and Reere approached me back after the disbandment of nRv (Including the very lovely Mi... I mean Dolo ). Peek has definitely become of the ToR guys with ease, he isn't afraid to joke around as you can clearly see in his statement. What impresses me most about Peek is his dedication. No matter the result, he always takes the most from every game of practice, every competition and that is something that really opened my eyes up when I saw his work ethic. He definitely has big expectations to fil ^^ but I am confident that he will be able to achieve.

Well I think thats about time to wrap things up, I apologise in advance for the extensive wall of text. Hopefully you guys will find the reading more enjoyable than it was writing . Also as a final note to end on we are looking forward to issue a challenge to all Teams out there in the community!
Been a while since I posted a new thread I have come to realise
Well I want to firstly kick off by wanting to officially welcome Anthony "Pox" Carapetis and Justin "Skrawl" Lanz. I hope you guys really become integral members in our little community and I know you guys will really feel welcomed by the guys
Just a few words Skrawl said on joining ToR .
Quote:
"I'm glad to be in such a strong clan, I admire Spartaz' ambitions and want to help him achieve so "
Also just a quick few words from Pox on also coming into our community
Quote:
I've been playing since relase but have never really gotten involved with the community. Hoping to rectify that, starting now by joining ToR.
So yeah guys I know you will really contribute to and help develop our ToR community and most importantly ^^ hope we can offer you guys the support you need to head towards your goals and ambitions and you just generally enjoy being with us
